Naschmarkt (giant permanent flea market with many small shops and cafes), Heldenplatz/Volksgarten, outside of Hofburg Palace.
I arrived on Friday, 4/13/18. After settling in to my AirBNB (a lovely little studio apartment, just a short walk from the central city area) and picking up a few groceries from the store next door, I met up with Allison at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in the Innere Stadt.
Over the next several days, we explored the tourist sights, enjoyed lots of Viennese foods & wine, relaxed in the park, and tried to speak German. Photos to follow!
I have returned, and I couldn’t be happier. I just returned from a hike up to Arthur’s Seatt, in Holyrood Park. A brisk wind burning my cheeks, the muddy hike surrounded by stinging nettles and dogs running loose with wanton joy: I feel reinvigorated!
